The farm
Il vigneto Podere Giardino's lands are situated 350 m above the sea level, with south-west exposure, and are really vocated for viticulture and olive-growing. In 2003 Podere Giardino planted a small vineyard (5000 sq. m) to produce nearly 3000 bottles of its wines. All our products come from Sangiovese grapes only, they are Toscana Rosso IGT, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Podere Giardino's first harvest has taken place in 2006. From this grapes has been produced Podere Giardino's first wine, "Le Tracce" IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica). To complete the agricultural production, Podere Giardino has also olive trees (varieties: Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo), producing on the average 2000 kg of olives for about 300 kg of olive oil.
"Le Tracce"
IGT Le Tracce "Le Tracce" is the name of all our wines, that is inspired from the tracks ("tracce") made by the Romans and the Etruscans, paying this way a sort of tribute to these ancient cultures. If you like, you can properly understand what we exactly mean by visiting us... The vineyard is still very young but has already given well structured wines with interesting varietal aromas. Presently our wines on sale are “Le Tracce” IGT (vintages 2007 and 2008) and “Le Tracce” Rosso di Montalcino DOC (vintage 2007). Our first Brunello will be ready only in 2011.
