Production area S. Angelo in Colle, Montalcino (SI) – Hilly lands at an altitude of about 350 above sea level, facing south-west. Weather conditions After a mild and rainy winter, spring and early summer were cool and very wet, slowing down the vegetative cycle and requiring careful vineyard management. From July to September, conditions became more regular, with no excessive heat or prolonged water stress. The slightly late harvest, with yields below the recent average, benefited from the wide temperature ranges in late September, favouring fresh, aromatic grapes with elegant tannins. Variety Sangiovese clones selected in old vineyards in Montalcino. Harvest Careful selection in the vineyard of healthy, riper, better exposed bunches, guided by a tasting and ripeness assessment procedure. The yield was about 3.5 tons per hectare. Vinification Spontaneous fermentation of the whole grapes (including skins) at ambient temperature for 18 days in steel tanks. Ageing 18 months in French oak and bottle aging for about 10 months. This wine is available in:
