Production area | S. Angelo in Colle, Montalcino (SI) – Hilly soils at an altitude of about 300 on the sea level, facing west. |
Weather conditions | Winter and spring, with regular rainfall, supported good water reserves and balanced vine growth. Grapes for rosé, harvested earlier than those intended for Rosso and Brunello, retained good freshness and aromatic ripeness. |
Variety | Sangiovese |
Harvest | Selection in the vineyard of healthy grapes, the picking of which facilitates the ripening of the remainder for subsequent production of Rosso and Brunello. |
Vinification | Spontaneous fermentation on the skins overnight without temperature control, followed by removal of the skins and continuation of fermentation until the sugars are consumed. |

Weather conditions | July and August were particularly hot and dry, preceded in May and June by abundant but never excessive rains that gave the vines room to grow. New rainfall in September accompanied a slow and late ripening such as had not been seen in years, with full ripening in the first decade of October. Grapes for rosé were harvested in mid-September. |
